Book Notes

Each of the books mentioned on
the left is a piece of work in itself.
Besides writing all of the text, I
also had a lot of input on how the
book was organized as well as
including several "extras" to the
manuscript.

Some of my duties included:
Organizing the order of the book
and arranging chapters; write
introductions and prefaces.
In addition to describing the
subject itself, I researched and
presented information on
weather, customs, language,
travel tips, wildlife, flora and
fauna, beach safety and visitor
"dos and don'ts".
I created "call-outs", which are
timesaving, and eye-catching
items that stand alone from the
text and have catchy headings
like "Author's Tip!", "Fun Facts",
"Historical Note", and "Only in
Hawaii!"

It was also necessary to keep up
to date with current technology
and include relevant websites and
web listing for most dining
establishments, accommodations
and activities. I also provided
information for the publisher to
include easy-to-use and
timesaving charts and timetables
(for example: length and time
charts to drive around O`ahu).
